What are the Best Jeans to Suit Your Body Shape?

October 21, 2012

Long and slender, short and curvy, pear-shaped or athletic, no matter what body shape we are, we
all love to wear jeans. However, there are certain styles of jeans that suit different shapes and sizes,
and whilst one particular style of jeans may flatter someone, they could look seriously unflattering
on someone else.
Take a look at what the best jeans to suit your body shape are.

Straight Leg Jeans
Straight leg jeans are one of the most versatile styles of jeans around. Unlike flared or boot cut jeans
that tend to make narrower figures appear even narrower; straight leg jeans can also make slighter
frames appear more proportionate. Likewise, if you’re top-heavy with protruding hips then straight
leg jeans can even out your figure to give your more balance.

Flared Jeans
Jeans with flared or boot-cut bottoms can go a long way in balancing out larger hips and making you
appear slimmer. Flared jeans take the eyes away from the top of the jeans as you tend to look at
the most noticeable part of the jeans, the bottom, and they can make women with pear-shaped or
hourglass figures appear more proportioned. For more petite women and those with slender frames, flared jeans can have a tendency to swamp a figure making a woman appear too slender or slight.

Skinny Jeans
Skinny jeans that are moulded deliberately tight onto the leg have become highly fashionable in
recent years and their popularity shows no sign of abating. Slimmer figures have no problem fitting
into and looking great in a tight pair of skinny jeans, although this style is by no way confined to the
size tens and under. Curvier figures can also look great in a pair of tight fitting skinny jeans if they are worn in the right way. For example, larger, curvier women can look fantastic in a pair of skinny jeans with a floating
top such as a tunic or dress worn over the top.

Low rise jeans
Low rise jeans are fairly restricting in what type of figure can wear them because unless you have
no love handles whatsoever, low rise jeans are likely to show off every unwanted lump and bump
on the waist and bottom area. Whilst low rise jeans can look fantastic on smaller frames, curvier
women may want to opt for high rise options to hide any problem areas they may have.
